Health Care Reform, sometimes referred to as “Obama-Care” is officially known as PPACA –
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or simply the Affordable Care Act. The new
set of laws includes many changes scheduled to occur gradually between 2010 and 2018 required
by all Health Plans across our United States. The new benefits will be different, or have
different effective dates, depending on the type of health coverage that you have purchased.
Health Tradition Health Plan is committed to meet or exceed the provisions of this law, on or
before the necessary effective dates. You may have already received notices of updates to your Certificate
of Coverage that explain your new benefits that became effective in 2010. More will soon become effective
in 2011. Health Tradition Health Plan will keep all members informed, as we put new or changed benefits into
effect.
This new law is anything but simple, and the amount of information that is available to the
public can be overwhelming. In an attempt to make your search for reliable information on the Health Care
Reform easier, we have added a new section to our website completely dedicated to the Health Care Reform
